High-Speed Steel Construction: Offers durability and resistance to heat and wear for long-lasting performance. Non-Slip 1/4″ Hex Shank: Ensures a secure grip in drill chucks, enhancing safety and control. Ideal Materials: Suitable for mild steel, aluminum, copper, plastics, and other thin materials.SPECIFICATIONS: Product Type: Single Hole Step Drill Bit Hole Size: 3/8″ Shank Type: 1/4″ Hex Material: High-Speed Steel (HSS) Cutting Edge: Single-Flute Includes: 1x Irwin 3/8″ Single Hole UNIBIT HSS Fractional Bit (10312ZR)HOW TO USE: Preparation: Ensure your drill is compatible with a 1/4″ hex shank. Securely insert the UNIBIT into the drill’s chuck, making sure it is fully seated and tightened to prevent any movement during operation. Positioning: Place the SpeedPoint tip of the bit directly on the mark where you want the hole to be drilled. The self-starting design means you do not need to use a center punch or pilot hole. Drilling: Apply steady, even pressure and begin drilling at a moderate speed. Allow the bit to do the work; excessive force is not necessary and can lead to overheating or damage. Cooling: For drilling in metals, especially harder ones like mild steel, it is recommended to use a cutting fluid to reduce heat and prolong the bit’s life. This is not typically needed for plastics or softer materials. Completion: Once the bit has passed completely through the material, you will have a clean, finished 3/8″ hole. The single-flute design helps to eject chips and debris, ensuring a smooth finish.BENEFITS OF USING IRWIN 3/8″ SINGLE HOLE 1/4″ SHANK UNIBIT HSS FRACTIONAL BIT (10312ZR): Provides consistently precise 3/8-inch holes with minimal effort. Self-starting tip reduces preparation time by eliminating pilot holes. Single-flute design enhances chip clearance and smooth cutting for burr-free results. High-speed steel construction ensures durability and long-term performance. Secure 1/4″ hex shank connection increases safety and drill control.FEATURES: Laser-etched size marking on the flute for easy and permanent identification. Single-flute design for superior chip removal and cutting control. Self-starting SpeedPoint tip for fast penetration without a pilot hole. Bright finish enhances chip flow, especially in softer materials. Non-slip 1/4″ hex shank fits securely into standard drill chucks. Specifically designed to drill a single, 3/8-inch diameter hole. Made from high-speed steel for long-lasting wear resistance and performance.
