Ensure the hole is clean and free of chips. Lubrication: Apply a suitable cutting fluid or tapping oil to the tap and the hole. This reduces friction and heat, extending the life of the tap and improving the thread quality. Alignment: Secure the tap in a tap wrench and position it perpendicular to the workpiece. Proper alignment is crucial to prevent the tap from breaking or creating a crooked thread. Tapping: Turn the tap slowly and evenly, applying light pressure. After every half-turn forward, turn the tap a quarter-turn backward to break the chips and clear them from the cutting teeth. Completion: Continue this process until the desired thread depth is reached. Once the thread is complete, unscrew the tap from the hole and clean the workpiece to remove any remaining fluid and chips.BENEFITS OF USING IRWIN M16 X 1.50MM HCS PLUG TAP – BULK (1755): Provides a dependable tool for cutting threads in various materials, which is essential for professional applications.
